One of the best ways to reduce stress is to keep your self in tune with nature. Using meditation alone is not always enough. While the power of the mind is quite magnificent we sometimes need a little help getting in touch with the natural, healing world around us. Using water sounds is a wonderful way to bridge the gap between your stress-filled day at the office followed by the torturous commute back home in noisy traffic and smoke-filled highways and your personal sanctuary. Everything around us seems to have some kind of noise associated with it. The car’s engine prowls with a deep, throaty drone. The radio has a constant buzz that seems to overcome the music you hear and the commercials overwhelm the entire episode on your way to and from your destination. Water sounds can be recorded on to a music compact disc and used during the stress-filled trips. The soothing trickle of water and a few deep breaths can transform your commute to a enjoyable moment for your self.

Some people like to download water sounds off of the Internet. They can be played right on the computer as you check your email or write a passage. Many writers find noises associated with nature, especially waterfalls and ocean noises to be inspiring and conducive to creativity and writing. Using the water sounds at your writing station whether it is a computer or a journal is a wonderful way to relax and let the thoughts flow.

Water sounds can also be created by building a tabletop indoor water feature. After a little how-to research and a short visit to your local home improvement store, you can be well on your way to creating your very own water sounds. The indoor water feature is growing in popularity because of its attractive nature and because of the calming water sounds associated with the item.

Adults are not the only population who delight in the natural noises. Children enjoy listening to water sounds of all kinds. Consider the hours spent in the swimming pool. Not only is the swimming enjoyable but the noises associated with playing in the pool are enjoyable as well.

Babies are also fond of water sounds. Some argue that the noises remind the infant of being in the womb. No matter what age and what level of stress, just about everyone enjoys the natural water sounds.
